Q: Will taking this class earn me points to apply to take the ETCP exam?
Not for taking the exam the first time. ETCP uses a point system to determine eligibility to sit for examinations. A candidate must have 30 points to apply for either or both of the ETCP rigging examinations. You can get 1 point for every 100 hours of rigging work experience, 1 point for every 200 hours of an internship (maximum of 5 points), and 1 point for every 100 hours of an apprenticeship. (maximum of 10 points). Education credits may contribute a maximum of 10 points. All Degrees must be achieved from an accredited institution. An official transcript is required from the granting institution.
Q: Will taking this class earn me points to renew my ETCP certification?
YES! you will earn 1 point per hour of training.
Q: What does being an ETCP recognized trainer mean?
In order to maintain your ETCP certification you must earn 40 points within 5 years after your certification was issued. Points are earned from a combination of professional experience (maximum of 30 points)and education (MINIMUM of 10 points). By attending ETCP recognized programs or those taught by ETCP recognized trainers you will receive twice as many points per hour of training that by taking unrecognized courses.
